A round of words in 80 days: A writing event where you set your own goals.
It starts tomorrow, so I’m volunteering last minute. I crashed on NaNoWriMo 2010, and since this event is a little more forgiving, I’m back at it.
So, my goal for the next eighty days is this: 250 words per day or more, five days a week.
It’s not much, so I won’t drive myself crazy on the days it just won’t come, and I get days off. And, if I get inspired, I can make much better progress.
Wish me luck!
*waves hands around vaguely in genie-like manner* You shall have luck in oodleplexes of goodness.
Seriously, good luck.
Personally, I have a difficult time with specific word count goals–I end up staring at the word-county thing on word in a fit of blankness. This is not how 100,000-word fantasy novels are accomplished (at least not mine).
Heh. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not.
I had so much luck on NaNoWriMo though (except for last year) that I’ve discovered specific, strict goals work best for me. The 250 is such a short amount– it’s really to start me writing, and if I don’t feel like it, that’ll be it. To each his (her) own though. I’ve met writers who can easily pump out 3k+ every day. Others… not so much.
Thank you for dropping by!
Hey Eliza! I’m a sponsor for ROW80 and I’m beyond excited that you decided to join us! I’m looking forward to seeing your work.
I saw that! Actually, it was your blog and one other that convinced me to go ahead and try for ROW80. Good luck to both of us, Belinda.
Good luck with your goal! I’m doing ROW80 for the first time and I really want to finish my WIP.
Good luck to you, too! Write like the wind, get lots of wonderful quotes and deviously delicious sticky scenarios!
