Characters
Some members of the cast of ‘Blue Crystal’, and their very brief descriptions:
Rylan du Jadis
Dutiful, intelligent, and occasionally quite violent, Rylan is a high-ranking slave to the Lady Wyrren Jadis. Rylan is somewhere between a gentleman and a thug, and doesn’t navigate politics well.
Lady Wyrren Jadis de Renideo
Prior to her trip to the city Vastii, Wyrren supposedly wrote a thesis concerning the use of one of the more dangerous forms of magic. While her intellectual work suggests that she’s very gifted, she can barely speak and her stiff face suggests mental retardation. She is almost completely dependent on Rylan.
King Tarren II Kanichende de Vastii
The King of Marla and uncle to Wyrren Jadis. Currently he’s holding the lady as a hostage to ensure her father’s good behavior.
Kione Remerdii
Dubbed, ‘The Lord of Blue Crystal’, after the coat of arms he was presented with by the king. Kione Remerdii rose recently from obscurity to some importance, and is considered a favorite of the king.
Tyobe Mersii
Tyobe is a young, idealistic gentleman interested in books. Rylan considers him naive, but is grateful for the help he’s willing to give.
Maeche Mersii
Tyobe’s older brother, albeit a more practical sort.
Dacha, from Renideo
One of Lady Jadis’ three maids. Dacha frequently makes rude jokes ridiculing her own weight.
Saffira, from Aldaiijon
One of Lady Jadis’ three maids. Saffira does not speak often, and wears traditional paints over her face. She’s one of the only people that truly scares Rylan.
Ana, from Nowhere
The last of Lady Jadis’ three maids. Ana is barely old enough to be considered a grown woman, but she’s very pretty and excels at meeting people and gossip.
Emyl
A professional middleman in the city. He makes no attempt to hide his sarcasm and cynicism.
Barrynch
Leader of a mercenary group. He has a notable dislike for nobility.
