procrastination

It's the cats' fault.

I promised myself that I’d write a thousand words before sleeping. And then the cats were being so cute, sleeping on my black sweater.

I really do know better than this. It’s 11:30 at night, and I haven’t broken 52k. Bad kitties…

Quick photoshop sketch– took about an hour total, and would have been less if my cats had stayed asleep. Don’t let overwhelmingly cute cats happen to you. … Or blogging about them, for that matter…

  1. Don’t allow yourself to become distracted, no matter how tempting it may be. Plow through it until you’re done and then you can take a break. If you keep finding things to do, you’ll never get it done.

The funny thing is that once you’re done, the things that were distractions before won’t be so demanding of your attention…

  2. Actually, now I’m thinking that it might have been a good thing. I was tired anyway, and kept making false starts on a new chapter. After I went to bed I thought through it and came up with an outline, and some rather spooky ideas for how to proceed. šŸ™‚ I’ll try, though.
